#HighKeyCravings | Jeri's Midtown Cafe | Tallahassee

Hey, what's up fam?
If you are in Florida's capital city, wanting to go out for a delicious brunch (on a budget) - you're in luck. Two days ago, I had the privilege to visit Jeri's Midtown Cafe in Tallahassee, FL.

Jeri's Midtown Cafe is a real find. Serving all seven days of the week - serving primarily brunch items! Perfect for people who may want to visit on their lunch break - or perhaps a lunch out with a few girlfriends. The vibe and scenery of this cafe is so cozy and comfortable from the minute you walk in through their patio garden; which is where I sat during the #HighKeyCravings episode. For the tasting video, I was joined by my friend and fellow Youtuber, TiaraTonia
Here is the full video in case you haven't watched yet :)

First, I must start off by saying Jeri's has like amazing customer service. We were greeted by the outgoing owner, Jeri - as well as the lovable hostess, Kevin. We were then greeted by our sweet waitress, Kait - she was definitely a great worker and knew the menu in & out, which resulted in giving us detailed descriptions of the dishes we had questions about.

The first items we received were Jeri's famous homemade lemonades! I ordered the Very Berry Lemonade - Tiara ordered the Island Splash Lemonade! Mine was honestly very surprising when I took my first sip. It was SO refreshing & I tasted all of the mixed berries at once! It was presented so cute in a mason jar along with a miniature pitcher for self-refills (that was really cute). It was also topped with a fresh blackberry and strawberry.

For my dish, I chose their top-selling "Gouda Grits + Shrimp"! The plate - the presentation instantly got me excited. The dish consisted of a huge portion of creamy smoked gouda grits, jumbo shrimps, with a tasty creamy cajun sauce around the edge of the grits! It was topped with herb garnish & a Tribeca baguette slice.

As mentioned in the video, I've grown up eating grits that were made with cheddar cheese! So to taste grits made with GOUDA cheese, it was so interesting and delicious. The cajun sauce was the perfect flavor I needed to make the whole dish complete. And the SHRIMPS... I really picky about my shrimp. I don't like shrimp that feels and tastes like a rubber toy lol. But these shrimps were cooked to the T!!! They were seasoned really good and they give you a good amount that fills you up... QUICK

Tiara ordered a pressed sandwich called "The Dude" - an in-house roasted prime rib topped with herbed Duke’s, pesto, dill Havarti (she had the choice of Muenster and Gruyere also), topped with a Tribeca Demi baguette, served with dipping sauce/oil called "au jus" - meaning it was made from the juices given off by the meat as it is cooked. She also had a side of Lobster Bisque. Personally, Tiara and I wasn't as crazy over the bisque... but simply because we've never had lobster - we didn't know what to expect but it was definitely interestingly tasty. I took it to-go and I literally ate it within a hour of leaving the restaurant. (true story)

It’s such a calming place to be - the outside patio gave me a CHILL vibe. As shown in the video, the inside of Jeri's Midtown Cafe is just as adorable! I love how this cafe has three different dining areas to choose from. If you want to just have a coffee while reading a book, the "pink room" (as I like to call it), would be perfect for you.. Or if you want to be kind of secluded with a few friends, the back dining area would probably be the best choice.
